Eyeshadow Palettes: Revealed 2 from Coastal Scents

I love my Naked 2 palette, and I really loved the Marsala color found at Sephora a few years back. So imagine my sadness when the specialty pallette that I wanted from Pantone sold out before I could snap it up! I kept calling my local Sephora and I never managed to catch it in stock.  Thankfully, this gave me those colors in matte and shimmer, plus dupes for my Naked 2 pallete at more than 50% off the price of the Urban Decay Version and is ALWAYS IN STOCK!! The Lazy Makeup Artist Guide to Palettes aka How to see palette colors without depotting

Instead of doing all the work of depotting my palettes to put them in z palette just so I can decide on colors, I literally copied them on sticker paper, trimmed it and applied it to the backs of them. Way easier than melting and burning and magnetically sticking them to metal and stuff.  My son was freaking out that all my makeup palettes were open on my bed and was afraid to touch them. So, I did well. :)

Makeup Mistakes AKA Underestimating Inexpensive Palettes

So underestimating palettes is a mistake. This is a Claire's palette from eons ago. The primer is Jessie's girl, a very inexpensive primer. I'd originally used Urban Decay primer but that seemed to muddy the color a bit. I forgot to photo it. This is a $7USD dollar palette. Vibrant and full, as much as the a far more expensive artist palette (Greater than $100USD) that I swatched at Sephora a while back. Do not judge a makeup by it's packaging. Go by quality, not price tag and don't be afraid to experiment!

Mock Goth Spring Look

I was attempting light spring look, using golds and light purples... but you know... you can take the Mock out of the goth clothes, but you can't take the goth out of the Mock...

Lips: I layered the fig gloss from Juice Beauty over a purple brown lip color I depotted and forgot to label.

Base: I used Skin79 BB cream mixed with some Primer from Rimmel and a bit of Bourjois Healthy mix foundation and applied it with my hands, buffing afterwards with a blending sponge.

Eyes :I used the Neutral 28 color kit from ebay, and a bronze that I hand pressed from pigments I hand mixed.

Liner: I used a mixing medium for the eyeliner (from a black eyeshadow in the neutrals palette). I used a bit of primer for my lashes mixed with black eyeshadow because my mascara is missing! (que horror!)

Blush: 10 color blush kit in 4th over (orange corally satin finish). I applied it using a flat top bronzer brush and then I used a bit of Peach Girl BB cream to add shimmer and soften the edges a bit. I used a shimmer shadow from the NYX Nude palette as a highlighter on my cheeks.

Powder is a combination of the Mirabella Perfecting Powder on my cheeks, and on my T zone- ELF HD Powder and NYX Loose powder mixed together to create a shade close to my skin tone.

Love & Beauty Forever 21 Smoky Eyeshadow Palette Black/Grey

I was feeling bored one night and ran across the Forever21 website. I hadn't actually shopped there before, but I found the clothes were quite cute. On a lark, I clicked on 'Beauty' and I found some palettes that struck me as very similar to the Urban Decay Naked Palettes and they were only 7 bucks each.

I am always keen to find cheap dupes and I am a sucker for neutrals. On Beautylish, someone asked me to swatch this palette, so here it is. I got the picture in natural full spectrum light and with the flash as well. I think that this palette is gorgeous.
