Beauty Subscription:: Birchbox April 2016

I got an absolutely amazing box this month! I love it when @riflepaperco team up. I've never been a fan of floral prints until this collaboration, plus there is a 20% discount for the company in box.


(Malin + Goetz) included a grapefruit face cleanser. Citrus makes me a bit nervous with my skin being so cranky and it making it easier to burn, but it's not like I am outside too terribly often and i use SPF in EVERYTHING,  AND they included a sample of their vitamin E and hyaluronic acid to try along with it. I loves me some hyaluronic acid. It makes your skin feel all soft and fine lines just smooth away!

Also included is Briogeo "Don't despair, Repair!" Deep hair conditioning mask. I have used this before but this trial size is quite nice, so I'll be able to judge it more accurately. I don't use chemical processing on my hair, nor do I swim or go outside without a SPH spray, and I rarely use hot tools on my hair, so it may just be trying to help others get my hair. ;)

Marcelle cosmetics 3 in 1 Micellar water is an recognized by the Canadian Dermatology Association. It's also paraben, perfume, oil and alcohol free, and claims to be non comedogenic and hypo-allergenic. So I'll trying that very soon.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics included a test tube in Strumpet, which is a lovely deep berry color. that I will be posting soon!

A WEI provided a golden root purifying mud mask. I just got a few masks from Ipsy so I'll be using that in a few weeks. It supposedly does not harden, which is important for my sensitive skin

As red as a tomatox?

I got a sample of Tony Moly's Tomatox Brightening Massage Mask and I have to tell you, I wish I had a time machine to go back and stop myself from using this mask.

When I put it on my face, I was instantly hit with the smell of permanent waves (big thing is the 80s and early 90s) and my skin started to burn as soon as I had applied it to my skin. I rinsed it off IMMEDIATELY. But it has left me with a rash, and a flare up. My skin was in pretty good condition this morning, and now it's all red and angry. The skin on my chin has a half dollar sized raised red welt. I think I am going to have to use hydrocortisone to soothe it. Maybe that's why they call it Tomatox. Your skin turns the color of tomatoes. *grr*

DO NOT USE if you have rosacea, acne prone skin, sensitive skin, or eczema. I am still debating whether to post an image or not. *frowns* Brighten skin, Korean style?  nope, nope, nope, nope, nope...

Apple Stem Cells? Say what?

I was sent a challenge from Eclos to do their Dare to Go Bare Skin Care 2 week challenge and the most challenging thing was posting my face without ANYTHING on it! GAH! ;)

Eclos is from Freeman (which makes super awesome masks that I would use if I wasn't on a kitchen beauty kit at them moment) and their anti-aging regime is apparently formulated with stem cells from some sort of Swiss Apples. I don't know about all that, but I am intrigued enough to try it and see if my skin fares well with the course.

I am doing a video documenting my experience, and I'll show it to you after it's done :) For now, here's my before.
